Polynomial Visualization Via Polynomiography. Applications in Art, Education, Math, and Science, Bahman Kalantari, Rutgers University, Tue, 17 March, 2009, 10:00 a.m. C-356
Abstract
I will select an assortment of topics from the book, Polynomial Root-Finding and Polynomiography." Polynomiography is the art and science of visualization in the approximation of zeros of polynomials. In particular, images and animations will be exhibited, both as art and as science and math. There is a growing evidence that solving polynomial equations through proper development of Polynomiography could turn into a popular medium for K-16 education, as well as one that would be of interest to artists, mathematicians, scientists, educators, and even the general public. I shall discuss these and some recent progress and future plans.
