Abstract
We propose a spatio-temporal model for multivariate counts observed at fixed points of a region. More specifically, we are interested in modelling abundance of fish species observed along the shores of a lake at different times. Our multivariate model takes into account the spatio-temporal
structure of the data and also captures the covariance across species, if any.
One of the aims is to investigate if by borrowing strength across species the multivariate model provides better fits and predictions than models that assume independence across species. This is joint work with Marco A. RodrÃguez, from the University of Quebéc at Trois-Rivières, Canada.
