Adriana Morales Miranda will begin her doctoral studies next August at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. Adriana is interested in the area of biomathematics. Adriana will receive an instructor’s scholarship in conjunction with a scholarship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundations Minority Ph.D. (MPHD) program. This scholarship was created in 1995 by the foundation for doctoral students belonging to minorities with low representation in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Adriana participated in 2 REUs (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) and an internship in NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). The REUs were at Miami University, OH and Texas A&M.
